Dane identyfikacyjne transmitowane do czytnika kontrolującego dostęp są przechowywane w urządzeniu mobilnym w postaci zaszyfrowanej. W ogólnym przypadku użytkownik może posiadać wiele identyfikatorów i używać ich w zależności od potrzeb do logowania na różnych przejściach lub punktach rejestracji. Transmisja identyfikatorów do czytnika może być realizowana za pośrednictwem: - transmisji BLE (Bluetooth), - transmisji NFC (Near Field Communication), - poprzez wyświetlenie kodu graficznego QR na ekranie urządzenia mobilnego.
