MonitGPS RECCE is a dedicated safety app for rally competitors, used during official pre-event route reconnaissance ("recce"). It is provided by rally organizers to registered competitors for a specific event — access requires a start code issued for that event, not a public sign-up. What the app does, screen by screen: - Login screen — enter the start code given by the organizer, or scan it as a QR code with the built-in scanner. No separate username/password. - One-time setup — grants the location, notification, and battery permissions the app needs to keep working reliably while the phone is mounted in the car for the whole recce session. - Main screen — a live, full-screen map centered on your current GPS position, showing the event's special stages and connecting road sections (liaisons), plus a status indicator confirming whether your position is currently being transmitted.
